Terms of Service

Welcome to Sattva Surya ("Sattva Surya," "we," "us," or "our"), a community and classifieds marketplace available at sattvasurya.com (the "Site" or "Service"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and Accounts​

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. We authenticate users via phone number, including WhatsApp, in place of email/password login. You are responsible for maintaining control of the phone number associated with your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

2. Nature of the Service​

Sattva Surya is a venue that allows users to post, browse, and respond to listings (each, a "Posting") for items, services, housing, jobs, events, and similar community content. We are not a party to any transaction between users. We do not own, inspect, sell, resell, warrant, or take title to any item or service posted or exchanged through the Service, and we have no control over the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of Postings or the truthfulness or identity of any user.

3. User Conduct and Transactions​

You are solely responsible for your Postings and for any transaction, communication, or interaction with other users, whether online or in person. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and non-misleading information in your Postings.
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, including those governing the sale of goods, housing, and employment.
  • Exercise caution and good judgment when meeting other users in person or exchanging money, goods, or personal information — including meeting in public places and verifying items before payment.
  • Independently determine the value, legality, and legitimacy of any item, service, or opportunity posted by another user.

We are not responsible for any loss, damage, injury, or dispute arising from interactions or transactions between users, whether in person, over the phone, via WhatsApp, or otherwise.

4. Prohibited Postings and Content​

You may not post, and we may remove without notice, content that:

  • Is illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or promotes illegal activity.
  • Involves stolen property, counterfeit goods, weapons, drugs, or other items that may not lawfully be sold or transferred.
  • Infringes any intellectual property, privacy, or publicity right of a third party.
  • Is defamatory, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, or threatening.
  • Constitutes spam, a pyramid scheme, or other misleading solicitation.
  • Violates housing, employment, or consumer-protection laws (for example, discriminatory housing or job listings).
  • Impersonates any person or entity or misrepresents your affiliation with any person or entity.

We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to review, monitor, edit, or remove any Posting or account at our sole discretion, with or without notice.

5. Fees​

Posting and browsing listings is currently offered free of charge. We may introduce fees for certain features or listing categories in the future, and we will provide notice of any such fees before they apply to you.

6. Content Ownership and License​

You retain ownership of the content you post. By submitting a Posting, you grant Sattva Surya a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and otherwise make available your content in connection with operating and promoting the Service. You represent that you have the right to grant this license for any content you post.

7. Disclaimers​

THE SERVICE AND ALL POSTINGS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT POSTINGS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR RELIABLE, OR THAT ANY USER IS WHO THEY CLAIM TO BE.

8. Limitation of Liability​

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SATTVA SURYA AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODS, OR OPPORTUNITY ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY TRANSACTION OR INTERACTION WITH ANOTHER USER, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50).

9. Indemnification​

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sattva Surya and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your Postings, or your transactions or interactions with other users.

10. Termination​

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.

11. Changes to the Service or Terms​

We may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law​

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
