This Privacy Policy explains how Sattva Surya ("Sattva Surya," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our community and classifieds marketplace at sattvasurya.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information We Collect​

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your phone number, which we use to authenticate you via SMS or WhatsApp in place of a traditional email/password login. We may also collect a display name and profile details you choose to provide.

Listing content. Information you include in Postings, such as item descriptions, photos, prices, and location details.

Communications. Messages you exchange with other users through the Service, and messages we send you (for example, verification codes, listing notifications, or WhatsApp messages related to your account or activity).

Usage and device information. We automatically collect information about how you access the Service, such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and referring URLs, including through cookies and similar technologies and Google Analytics (gtag).

2. How We Use Information​

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and authenticate your account and verify your phone number.
  • Operate, maintain, and display listings and enable communication between users.
  • Send you service-related messages, including verification codes and WhatsApp notifications about your Postings or account.
  • Monitor, secure, and improve the Service, including detecting fraud, spam, and abuse.
  • Understand aggregate usage trends through analytics.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Information​

With other users. Information you include in a Posting (such as a listing description, photos, and any contact details you choose to include) is visible to other users and, unless you restrict it, the public. Use discretion about what personal information you include in a Posting.

Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Service, such as SMS/WhatsApp messaging providers (for authentication and notifications) and analytics providers (such as Google Analytics). These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide services to us.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sattva Surya, our users, or the public.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Cookies and Analytics​

We use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Service and to improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may limit some features of the Service.

You may opt out of non-essential WhatsApp/SMS notifications, though we may still send messages required for account verification and security. 7. Data Security​

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy​

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. International Users​

We are based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

10. Changes to This Policy​
